My name is Maxime Vindrier, I am 26 years old, and I am autistic.
I have many passions I could talk about for hours, but we’ll get to that later. What really annoys me are the clichés and misconceptions about autism. Seriously, I often feel like shouting, “No, it’s not a disease, and no, it can’t be cured!” So, let’s sit down, and I’ll explain how someone ends up being “labeled” autistic—just to set the record straight.Maxime Vindrier
Maxime Vindrier, 26, is a passionate and talented illustrator. Diagnosed as autistic, he speaks about his condition with authenticity and humor in his book Autistic… So What? where he demystifies his daily life with a light and accessible tone. Creator of the comic Magica, Maxime depicts anthropomorphic characters in a fantastical universe. The hero of his story, “Messenger,” is an anthropomorphic dog whom he considers autistic, although this aspect remains secondary to the plot. Through this work, he blends his passion for drawing with a sharp sense of humor, making his stories as captivating as they are entertaining.A graduate of the Froggy Art training center in Lyon after four years of study, Maxime draws inspiration from his passions for manga, video games, and animated cinema. He is particularly influenced by the world of Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, of whom he is an avid admirer.
With his unique style and personal approach, Maxime Vindrier is carving out a singular artistic path, blending creativity, humor, and sensitivity.
