Paroles d’aidants

Supported by the associations Âges et Vie 94 and Delta 7, Paroles d’aidants brings together the moving testimonies of those who dedicate their lives to supporting their loved ones in situations of dependency. On the occasion of the 14th edition of the National Caregivers Day, poems, letters, and poignant stories reveal the challenges, moments of joy, and daily struggles. This collection offers a powerful voice to those who, in the shadows, embody resilience and unconditional love.

About the authors

Created in 1981, ÂGES ET VIE 94 is a non-profit association under the 1901 law, which aims to promote home support for people weakened by age, illness, and/or disability.
Our SAAD (Home Autonomy Service – Assistance and Care) is composed of:

• a SAAD (home help and support service); home helpers and life assistants provide daily life assistance.
• an SSIAD (home nursing care service): care is provided by nurses and nursing assistants, all of whom are qualified.
• an ESA (Specialized Alzheimer Team): rehabilitation care is provided by psychomotor therapists, occupational therapists, and gerontology care assistants.
• an autonomy hub: works on 5 prevention projects (prevention of malnutrition and dehydration, fall prevention, caregiver prevention system and technical aids) with a team composed of occupational therapists, dieticians, a psychologist, a musculoskeletal disorder specialist, an adapted sports educator, and a caregiver prevention system coordinator.

Founded on March 1, 1973, the Delta 7 association serves people whose autonomy is compromised. Its purpose is to conceive and implement all concrete innovations to provide solutions to poorly or unresolved medical-social, social, or health problems. Thus, Delta 7 deploys experiments to reduce factors of exclusion or isolation or to improve care, and then promotes the dissemination of successful achievements.
The values of Delta 7 are based on openness, to oneself and to others. They are reflected in the following two behaviors:

• Openness to change, supported by curiosity and creativity, provides the energy to take initiatives at all levels and adapt to new things.
• Self-transcendence to engage with professionalism and kindness towards others, demonstrating a team spirit conducive to conviviality.
